History
Shattered World Crisis
Act One

Clayton and his team, the Spider Troupe, were tasked with escorting Team Dark on a trip to destroy the New Black Comet before it invaded the world. Before leaving, he questioned Commander Abraham Tower on the mission as it seemed a bit overkill but the latter told him that even though they may be able to destroy all the Black Arms, the unpiloted comet may still cause unneeded harm to the world. While aboard the New Black Comet, Clayton asked E-123 Omega if their progression made any sense to him, to which the robot replied no and that the structural design was a alien as the Black Arms' technology.[1]

After Shadow the Hedgehog left to cover more ground, Clayton, the Spider Troupe, Rouge the Bat and Omega found themselves nearly eaten by Death Leeches. Luckily, they got away with the addition of their gas masks. Soon on, as Shadow seemingly turned against them, Clayton and the Spider Troupe pressed on to set the nuke while Rouge and Omega handled their partner. Clayton was requested by Captain Andrews to set Mantle free from the Giga Trooper but was swiftly defeated by Eclipse the Darkling instead. He was going to be used as nutrition for the alien's Dark Arms but luckily, he and his team were found by Rouge and Omega. With this, Clayton left the duo to arm the nuke while he and the Spider Troupe returned to Shuttle Ratatosk with what was left of their strength.[1][2][3][4]
Personality
Clayton is a brave soldier and has no problem fighting strong opposition, such as the Black Arms. He has a tendency to ask questions when he needs something cleared up for him.
Trivia
- Clayton, like the other Spider Troupe members, is based off of an Archie Comics character. Specifically, he is named and loosely modeled after the character Chuck Clayton.
