The Anti Gravity Ray[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic Boom series. It is a device created by Dr. Eggman that can manipulate gravity.
Description
Appearance
The Anti Gravity Ray is a hat-sized device. It consists of a light gray plate-shaped base with high edges and a raised dark gray center on the bottom. On both sides of the base are black handles and instruments. Standing on a light gray pole protruding from the dark gray center is a red semi-sphere held in place by a gray quadpod with black spheres as joins. The device also has a red control knob on the side.
Abilities and traits

By emitting a yellow anti-gravity field from the bottom, the Anti Gravity Ray can pick up any objects that enter its range and keep them floating in midair. In addition, any object inside the anti-gravity field will stay in the vicinity of the Anti Gravity Ray (unless physically kept from it), making it an ideal tool for moving around objects. Those wearing Gravity Boots are immune to the anti-gravity field though.[1]
The Anti Gravity Ray's range is wide enough to encompass the Village Center. Its anti-gravity field is supposedly also strong enough to lift something as large as Dr. Eggman's lair. Conversely, the Anti Gravity Ray can be put in reverse, thereby gradually producing a gravity field that makes people so heavy that they are barely able to move.[1]
History
TV series
Season two

The Anti Gravity Ray was invented by Dr. Eggman so he could turn his lair away from the Sunday breeze. While Eggman was gone though, Cubot and Orbot would fool around with the Anti Gravity Ray, which got stuck on Cubot's head in high gear with its control knob torn off. Cubot, whose processors got scrambled by the gravitational forces, thus became a floating anti-gravity field that caused chaos wherever he got sent by picking up everything and everyone. When he ended up in Hedgehog Village, Cubot gained control over the Anti Gravity Ray, thus obtaining gravitokinesis. With newfound confidence, Cubot tried enlightening the villagers by using his new powers to take them towards space. Armed with the Anti Gravity Ray's knob however, Sonic intercepted Cubot and got everyone down again by reversing the device. After the Anti Gravity Ray was removed from Cubot though, it began emitting a gravity field that started to crush the Village. Fortunately, Knuckles stopped the device by smashing it.[1]
