Description
King kicks out 2 energy projectiles at her foe via hopping-spin kicks.
In most games that Double Strike appears in, this move acts as a regular Special Move, but in Art of Fighting 2, KOF '98 (specifically King's EX moveset) and KOF XIII, it is instead a Super Special Move, performed with the same input and has the same effect otherwise.
From KOF XIV onwards, however, this became the version of King's regular (grounded) Venom Strike, allowing her to use the move without having to perform another quarter-circle input. However, in KOF XIV King had to be in MAX Mode first to be able to use it. Not the case come KOF XV, however, where King can now freely use it at the expense of half of the Power Gauge.
Strategy
Double Strike is more or less the same ordeal as Venom Strike, with the key difference being that King throws out two projectiles at once instead of one, making it difficult for the opponent to jump over or roll past them. Reflecting them as Athena, Elisabeth, or even Rugal barely does any good since the move is simply canceled out; though Whip can use her Crescent Swatter to turn the tide on King and threaten her with a slowly approaching projectile of her own instead. Additionally, Double Strike also has very good combo potential in the corner (especially in KOF XIV and KOF XV), further bolstering King's simple and damaging combo potential.
