Vanity and Tailor decide to make a new outfit for the Smurfs, but Jokey comes between, making them to argue. They get into a fight on who will make better outfit while the other Smurfs abandon their pants until a new outfit is made.
Summary
Vanity jumps around colored clouds in his dream, each one he jumps on his clothes turn a different color. He dreams about different types of outfits, but one in particular catches his eye. He falls out of his bed and wakes up, believing his dream could become a reality.
He goes to Tailor's house and tells him about the new idea. They wake up Papa Smurf and tell him about the idea of new outfits. Papa Smurf, very tired, says they can make one outfit. Both are enthusiastic about this and begin planning.
In the morning, Vanity gets lots of inspiration from Tailor and the two begin to get inspiration from the forest through various animals and objects - even Azrael, who they run from.
In Vanity's house, he tells Tailor that he has enough material and that he'll tell him when he's finished. Vanity works for the rest of the day though night. When he finishes in the early morning, he puts it at Tailor's door, but as Jokey passes by, he hears "like a creation like never smurfed before", he throws his gift box to the side. When Vanity leaves Tailor's doorstep, Jokey looks around and then takes the model of the design. Jokey gathers three Smurfs around to witness the model. They decide to massively change it into something it wasn't in the first place.
Jokey knocks Tailor's door and tells Tailor that Vanity asked him to give the model to him. Tailor takes the model and Jokey runs away in hopes that this will be fun to watch. When Vanity answers the door after Tailor rings it, Tailor runs into Vanity's house and shows him the design... green with antlers and polka-dots. Vanity is surprised and tells him that it wasn't his creation. As Tailor explains to Vanity that the outfit was the drawing he drew, He tells Tailor that he's the worst Tailor that ever lived. He believes he is trying to mess with his artistic vision, Tailor argues with him, and they go into a fashion showdown.
In Vanity's house, Smurfette, Hefty, and Dimwitty are on his side. Other Smurfs are playing fancy music. Smurfette gives Vanity a flower and Vanity takes one of the needle pins from Dimwitty's hat and combines both of them and puts it on Hefty's dress. Hefty asks if he looks ridiculous with a dress on, but Vanity tells him to stop moving, as models don't move. He then asks Dimwitty for another pin, but he puts it on his hand, causing Vanity to get hurt and he blows his hand. Dimwitty offers him another pin, but Vanity refuses. He takes another flower from Smurfette and puts it on Hefty. Vanity then dismisses the outfit and tells the Smurfs to stop the music.
In Tailor's house, funky music is being provided by Glammy and more Smurfs are on his team then Vanity's. He paints one of the designs on Lazy, but Lazy is tired and Tailor yells at him, waking him up and he puts his body on Grouchy's. Glammy then informs Tailor that the models are here, and Tailor allows for them to be sent in. He ends up rejecting all of the models, saying they are all too short.
Reporter tells the camera viewer that Smurfs have been demonstrating to show their support for their favorite stylist by ditching their clothes and replacing them with loin leaves. Papa Smurf and Brainy notice this and Reporter asks Papa Smurf who he's voting for. He votes for neither and tries to stop the fight. Both Vanity and Tailor refuse until either one of them stops.
In Vanity's house, Hefty has several flower pins on his red dress, but Vanity still won't accept it and believes it needs more "pizzazz". After calling Chef for a drink, he asks him and Dimwitty to spy on Tailor for him to see what he's doing. As Chef approaches Tailor's house, Dimwitty gives it away by waving to Tailor. Both Smurfs get hit with a boxing glove set up by Tailor himself. He then asks Grouchy and Curious to spy on Vanity for him.
In Papa Smurf's laboratory, Curious looks at Vanity's design through Papa Smurf's telescope while Grouchy stands and grumps. Papa Smurf comes in and wonders what they're doing. Curious tries to lie his way out of this by saying they’re looking at the "falling stars" and they run out. Papa Smurf looks in the telescope and notices Vanity blows a raspberry at him and closes the blindfold. Papa Smurf is angry and realizes the fight has gone too far. Vanity and Tailor respectively push their crews out in hopes of thinking of a new design. After working from day to night, they get a new idea.
The next day, the Smurfs have the contest and come to see what the new design is. Some of the Smurfs are still in loin leaves as they have been waiting for the big moment. Vanity and Tailor enter the stage, and everyone cheers. However, as soon as they see the respective designs, it's just a simple cherry design. After Brainy points out it's the same thing, Vanity and Tailor start arguing that one stole the other's idea. Papa Smurf stops the fighting, and he asks both of them if they really are the same thing. They notice that it's on a different side of the pants. Vanity and Tailor become friends again and Tailor tells Vanity that he could show him to make designs.
The two walk off, but Blossom mentions that there is still no outfit. Papa Smurf then takes off both of the model Smurfs' cherries and puts them on his hand. All of the Smurfs cheer for him and it attracts the attention of Smurfette, Blossom, and Lily. Brainy remarks how Papa Smurf is a true fashion genius as he grins and winks at the audience.
Trivia
This episode marks the first speaking appearance of Glammy Smurf.
This is also the first time in which he is seen without Rocky and Meteorite. However, Glammy and Meteorite are not named until "Who's In The Band?".
In the English dub, Glammy is heard speaking in Harmony's voice. However, this is likely a translation error, as Harmony looks similar to Glammy.
This translation is rectified in "Who's In The Band?", in which Glammy is now voiced by Luke Calzonetti.
Clumsy appears without the droop of his hat in this episode. It's possible that they animated a different Smurf, but they dubbed it with Clumsy, as this is present in both dubs.
This is the first instance in the series where a Smurf is seen barefoot. In this case, the Smurfs abandon their pants, exposing their feet.
Drummer Smurf's voice in the episode is similar to Farmer's. Future episodes such as "Flying Ace" use a deeper voice.
This is the first episode in which Azrael appears without Gargamel.
Vanity adjusting his flower (only to look disgusted when someone rings his doorbell) is repeated footage from "Joke's On You".
Although Jokey is responsible for the argument between Vanity and Tailor, he plays a minor role in this episode and does not get any punishment for his actions.
The music that Glammy plays in Tailor's house is similar to the popular Bruno Mars song 24K Magic. Similar music was previously heard in "Clumsy Not Clumsy".

In the end, when Vanity and Tailor became friends again, when they leave, Vanity's sunglasses reappear despite the fact he no longer had his sunglasses when he fought Tailor.
Smurfette joins Blossom and Lily on a bench where the Smurfs watch the contest. When Vanity and Tailor are fighting, separate benches are shown, with Smurfette next to Brainy. When the Smurf Girls go to see Papa Smurf's cherry outfit, all three of them are on the same bench again.
