Cursed Land

The Cursed Land is the original location of the Smurf Village in the Johan and Peewit comic books, which was first seen in "The Smurfs And The Magic Flute". It is a desolate rock-filled forest that according to Homnibus is unreachable by any human roads, requiring the technique of "hypno-kinesis" to transport Sir Johan and Peewit there so they can find the Smurfs. When the Smurfs became popular enough to warrant their own comic book series, the Smurf Village was relocated to a flourishing animal-filled forest that was seen in all sub sequent inter pre tat ions of the Smurfs. The Johan And Peewit episode "The Cursed Country" in Season 2 of the Smurfs cartoon show is the animated adaptation's only reference to the original name of the region.
