YouTube Red was a paid streaming subscription service exclusively for YouTube. It was used to compete against sites such as Hulu and Netflix. It was first released in November 2014 as Music Key with help from Google Play Music. It was rebranded as YouTube Premium in May 2018.
In December 2016, a monthly subscription was $9.99. YouTubers and celebrities frequently uploaded series on there, including Rhett and Link, who bought Smosh in 2019 through their company Mythical Entertainment. Good Mythical Morning Movie
With Smosh
Smosh released Ghostmates as a YouTube Red Original on December 14, 2016. A small number of Smosh videos were also affiliated with YouTube Red, but are free episodes.
