There are currently 18 released Smash Up boxed sets. Each set typically includes factions, bases, VP tokens, an updated rulebook, dividers and sometimes a box designed to hold multiple decks of cards neatly.

Most sets consist of expansion boxes with 4 factions, although there are exceptions to this pattern, such as the Core Set, Smash Up: Munchkin, It’s Your Fault!, World Tour: Culture Shock, and Smash Up: Marvel.

In addition to regular boxed sets, there are promotional sets available, such as kits for Smash Up tournaments (such as the All Stars Event Kit and TITANS Event Kit) and single-faction booster packs (like Smash Up Sheep Promo, Smash Up Penguins, and Smash Up Goblins).

Currently, the Big Geeky Box, the All Stars Event Kit, the TITANS Event Kit and Smash Up: Munchkin have been discontinued. The All Stars Event Kit and the TITANS Event Kit were only available as promotional items for a limited time. The Big Geeky Box has been replaced by The Bigger Geekier Box.
