William "Bill" Ross is the father of Pete Ross and a lawyer in Smallville.
Early Life
As a young man, Bill played football for the Smallville Crows, under coach Walt Arnold (who would later coach all of Bill's sons).[2] Until 1989, Bill and his brother Dale co-owned the Ross Creamed Corn factory in Smallville. However, shortly after the 1989 Meteor Shower, the brothers sold it to Lionel Luthor (who turned it into LuthorCorp Fertilizer Plant Number Three). The brothers had planned on selling the factory, but began to hesitate following the meteor shower. Jonathan Kent, who owed Luthor a massive favor, talked them into selling the plant.[3]
Season One
When Sam Phelan had Jonathan Kent framed for murder, Jonathan asked his family to call Bill Ross, needing a lawyer.[1]
Season Three
Bill's marriage to his wife, Abigail, had been on the rocks for a number of years. In 2004, they divorced. Bill stayed in Smallville, while Abigail moved to Wichita, with their son, Pete.[4]
