Maxine is first seen in the story when she is watching Esther after she has just been kidnapped.

Maxine was first encountered by Wallace at the Santa Yolanda tar pits where she administered the drug on Wallace. Wallace and Captain ambushed Maxine, Delia and Gordo as they were driving their Humvee out of town.

Wallace kills Gordo and wounds Delia before forcing Maxine to help him get rid of the drug in his system. However Wallace suffers from a blackout and shoots Maxine in the head. Fortunately for Wallace Maxine fixed his mind before she died.
