Naima is the restaurant owner of SoulHouse.
She was voiced by Dawnn Lewis, who also voiced Bernice Hibbert.
History
When Carl is bowling at Barney's Bowlarama, he meets Naima who is there for her friend's birthday party. Carl fell in love with Naima and started seducing her. After he buys her a pair of Lane Janes that wouldn't have to wear shoes, he showed Naima how to bowl and have fun doing so. When Carl asked Naima to meet her again after the game finished, she agreed to meet on Friday at the restaurant, SoulHouse.
Before the date, Carl started having personal problems about who he remained and ended up getting whole makeover to attempt and get Naima to like him more. Throughout the meal, when Naima asked Carl about himself, she realized that he was in an identity crisis and told him that it did not work out between them. As a result, the date was dejected, and Carl left the restaurant.
When Carl went on the program Finding Your Roots, Naima saw him on the show in SoulHouse. Carl mentioned the restaurant where he left his takeout bag, which made everyone (including Naima) happy. When Carl learns that he comes from cowboy lineage and that his father, Wyatt, was also a cowboy, he invites Naima to watch him ride the bull. She arrived to try and talk to him to get off the bull, but it was too late as Carl was riding the bull for three seconds before he was sent into the air. As Carl fell out of the air, he was impressed by Naima which Carl broke his arm. After this, because Carl is injured, Naima gives blood to Carl in the back of the ambulance and Carl tells her about the history of black cows.[1]
