Smash Mouth

Smash Mouth is an American rock band that originated from San Jose, California and was formed in 1994.

Originally composed of the late Steve Harwell (Lead singer), Kevin Coleman (Drummer), Greg Camp (Guitar player), and Paul de Lisle (Bass player), by 2021, most of the original members had left the group, with de Lisle being the only original member to still remain in the band.

Smash Mouth is well known for being the creator of the 1999 smash hit song "All Star," which was used at the beginning of the movie, Shrek. They also sang the song "I'm a Believer", which played at the end of the film.

Harwell retired in 2021 due to an incident during their performance at the 2021 Beer and Wine Festival in Bethel, New York and Coleman and Camp departed the group in 1999 and 2019 respectively.

On September 3, 2023, it was announced by Harwell's representative that Harwell was receiving hospice care for final stage chronic liver failure and that he only had "1 day left to live". Harwell died the following day at his home in Boise, Idaho at the age of 56 on September 4, 2023.
