Absorbolorb

Absorbolorbs are minor enemies in Shovel Knight Dig. They are squared-shaped sponge-like Blorbs who can absorb water to become much larger. They only appear in the Secret Fountain in specific stage layouts.

Behavior and Tactics

When small, Absorbolorbs behave like regular Blorbs and have the same stats ( (2) health points and 1 damage points). When they come into contact with a Water Flow, they become much larger, have double their initial stats and can jump higher. When they land, the expulse two large water drops describing a parabolic trajectory on each side. Those water drop deal 2 damage points if Shovel Knight touches.

If they land on dry land, Absorbolorbs return to their initial size and stats, with half the remaining health (rounded up) they had when they were big.

Trivia

• Absorbolorbs were named Spongeblorb on the game's official instruction manual and in the game's files.^[1] That name was a pun on the cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants.
