Strakens are magic-wielding demons within the Forbidding. They occasionally wield scepters/staffs of great power.
The Ulk Bog, Weka Dart, confuses Grianne Ohmsford for a straken when she became trapped in the Forbidding, unaware of what a druid or an Ard Rhys were.
Straken Lords
The title "Straken Lord" is given to a straken who rules over a large area of the Forbidding through strength, control, and fear, commanding all of the demons within their territory.
