Nitika

Nitika (ニティカ Nitika?) was a Crimson Denizen who appears in the short story Zoetrope. He was initially pursued by Shana, whom he almost successfully escaped, but was ultimately destroyed by veteran Flame Haze Sophie Sawallisch.

Appearance

Nitika took the form of a winged dragon with countless golden coins attached all over his body (wings, body, and tail) resembling scales. When he moved or flapped his wings, they created an opulent sound of coins clanking. Despite his massive size and weight of coins on his body, Nitika managed to fly with his wings which gave a powerful lift and thrust that should have been impossible to achieve.[1]

Personality

Nitika was obsessed with collecting works of art and golden coins.[2] This caused him to frequently break into vaults or shops to steal, even as he was being pursued by Flame Haze.

Background

Nitika crossed over to the human world during the Modern era but after the Great War ended.[3]

Plot

Nitika was stealing the works of art in a certain city in eastern Europe when he was attacked by the girl with Flaming-Hair and Burning-Eyes. He started to flee while utilizing the mobile-type Fūzetsu and went on a rampage in the city.[4] As Shana could not catch up with his speed and parts of the city become irreparable (since the area of Fūzetsu is moving from its usual place, unlike a normal one). Nitika managed to break away from the girl and was going to fly away when he suddenly took a fatal blow of a lightning dropkick from Sophie Sawallisch and perished.

Powers and Abilities

Nitika was one of the few characters in the stories who used the mobile-type Fūzetsu.[4] The others are Tenmoku Ikko and Ukobach. He was capable of flying and was also extremely fast when escaping enemies.

  • Nitika is a "genius of precious stones" referred to in Nuctemeron of Apollonius of Tyana.
