Plot

During the Second Great War, he was appointed as one of the Commanding Officers of the Eastern Outlaw Subjugation Army Main Forces.

Just before the start of the battle for the Tokyo Outlaw Headquarters, Egyn was ambushed by a Flame Haze strike team. However, he successfully repelled the attack along with his group, like his superior Ribesal and his colleague Bufar did.[3]

During the retreat back to Seireiden, Egyn was temporarily stalled at Mount Tanigawa by Mikalojus Cui and his group. When the Faint Heaven Quake suddenly occurred signaling the God of Creation's true body returning to this world, he responded to his subordinates' inquiries about the situation with a curt that he did not know either.[4]

After Xanadu was created, he crossed over to the new world along with other Crimson Denizens.

Nearly two years after coming to Xanadu, Egyn led a unit in the outskirts of Meaux, where he coordinated with Haborym's and Ribesal's forces. Together, they surrounded and annihilated over 200 Denizen Newcomers, achieving what could be considered a complete victory.[5]

Egyn was deployed as one of the lookouts around the Lord of the Seas, which was the place to hold the ceremony to unveil the "Heir to Both Worlds" Justus to a group of Denizens consisting mostly of Newcomers. He was in charge of the north, while Orobas handled the east, with Barma at the south and Ose at the west.[6]

Trivia

  • In demonology, there are traditionally four principal kings, one for each of the four cardinal points. While sources vary, Egyn is in one source the King of the North. Egin (or Ariton) is a demonic sub-prince with dominion over water. He commands twenty-two servitors. This demon is attributed with the power to discover hidden treasure. He knows the past, present, and future, and can cause people to have visions. He can make spirits appear and take any form, and he can also give familiars. Ariton is also reputed to have the power to revive the dead. He reveals the identities of thieves, gifts people with the power of flight, and can make warriors manifest to protect his charges.
  • His other name, Ariton, is possibly taken from Hebrew and if so would translate to mean "to delay," "to hinder," "to lay bare," "to make naked" or "to retard". However, if taken from the Greek language, his name would translate as “mysterious” or "secret".
  • It is said that Ariton's physical appearance is so frightful that if the incantation to cause him to manifest were ever performed, the practitioner would suffer a fatal episode of apoplexy, epilepsy, or suffocation.
  • Egyn being assigned to the north to protect the Lord of the Seas, is a reference to how his demonic counterpart is the King of the North.
