Blockers are a lab-created substance encapsuled in pills that, when consumed by sensates, silent the psycellium within their bodies, closing them off from their cluster and other sensates outside their psychic family.
Purpose and History
The origin of blockers is unknown but they allow sensates to temporarily become ordinary humans and wander the world as they did before their rebirths. While on blockers sensates are incapable of communicating with other sensates or forming new connections via eye contact. In Happy F*cking New Year, Will Gorski and Jonas Maliki briefly visited Whispers near a river after he was late consuming his daily dose of blockers.[1] Later when Will was given a bottle of blockers as a piece offering from Richard Croome, Kala Dandekar was able to study and recreate the formula for the cluster, which Jonas complimented as "Top Shelf" with none of the nausea often associated with home made blockers.
