Domingo is a reoccurring character and optional party member in the Shining series.
Appearance
Domingo appearance mimics a jellyfish, with a white cap with coloured spots and a pair of white tentacle like apendages. He appears as a black hairy creature with prominant eyes, and is often seen using one of his tentacles to push his cap up above his eyes.
History
During the events of Shining Force, Max comes across an egg inside a suit of armour in Manarina. He picks the egg up and takes it with him, until he and the rest of the Shining Force arrive at the travelling town of Pao. There Max meets a man who showcases an invention that can incubate eggs, and so Max hands the egg over.
The egg hatches and Domingo is born. The man with the incubator is surprised and comments "What is that thing?". Domingo, insulted, responds with "Thing indeed! How rude! I'm Domingo, at your service!" he joins the Shining Force and thanks Max for hatching him. going on to aid Max with his powerful ice magic to help defeat of Dark Dragon and battling the forces of Runefaust.
Some time later Domingo finds himself stuck in some bushes during the events of Shining Force CD, when he is found by Nick during the events of the night ambush. Out of gratitude for being rescued, he joins Nick's Shining Force and aids him in helping to find a cure for Queen Anri. At some point between the two games Domingo learnt how to use fire magic.
Personality
Domingo is very intelligent, and he knows it. He has an air of intellectual superiority about him, and whilst always polite, this can be off putting to others as he mentions some call him egotistical if not in the party.
Despite his disdain for the simple minded he finds himself surrounded by, he has a strong desire to repay any debts he feels he owes, and has a strong sense of loyalty as a result. He sticks with Max as a thank you for hatching him, and joins Nick later after being rescued from a bush he became entangled in.
