Arabian Fight is a multi-plane side scrolling beat 'em up released in arcades in 1992.
Plot
The corrupt Sheikh Sazabiss has abducted Princess Lurana, and he is utilizing every unscrupulous means of power he has at his disposal to achieve his ultimate ambition of conquering the world.
The quartet of valiant and fearless warriors, Sinbat, Ramaya, Goldor and Datta, bravely come face-to-face with Sazabiss. As they battle to save Lurana, the foursome, freely using magic, their most prized possession, journey to the castle of Sazabiss to save the princess and the planet.
Gameplay
Gameplay is very similar to other beat 'em ups such as Streets of Rage and Golden Axe.
Players can punch, kick, throw their opponents and unleash powerful magic that much like in Golden Axe is capable of clearing the screen of enemies upon collecting a magic lamp. The magic isn't character specific but rather dependant on what kind of magic lamp you pick up.
Magic ranges from lightning storms, fire blasts, floods and less traditional body splitting into many smaller versions of the player character creating a tiny army that battle opponents.
Health is restored via food, which can be obtained by breaking chests, urns and other objects.
This game is notable for it's use of sprite scaling allowing a true 3D field of depth. and especially it's use of sprites in the foreground which very few games utilised. The player characters can throw the opponents towards the screen and see the sprites become full resolution illustrations.
Occasionally the player will be tasked with riding a magic carpet through the skies and combating enemies riding their own carpets, although this still retains the same gameplay with the carpet simply flying you to where you want to walk.
