“ | This is a doctor in Norway. He's got a 30 to 40% success rate with gene therapy. He injects what he calls suicide genes into cancerous tumor cells, then an inactive form of a toxic drug is administered... And a new trial's starting, he's looking for new patients, and he seems to think that I'm the perfect candidate. | ” |
Finn Pederson is a fictional character from the Saw franchise. He is one of the characters in Saw X. A famous and well-respected doctor, Finn dedicated himself to finding new ways to curing sick patients. Eventually, he came up with new method to treat people of their illnesses or diseases using a mixture of injections and surgery. However, he admits that his process is still early in development and not ready for actual testing on human patients. Apparently without his knowledge, his daughter took advantage of Finn's reputation and reports to create The Pederson Project con scheme. Based off of Finn's in-development procedure, the scam was made to trick desperate sick people out of large sums of money for false promises to cure them.
Hearing of Pederson's research, John Kramer corresponded with Finn about the possibility of applying as a candidate in an upcoming trial, to which Finn responded favourably; however, this plan was not approved by Kramer's physician, Dr. Lawrence Gordon, and Umbrella Health subsequently refused to cover the treatment despite Kramer appealing directly to William Easton to have the refusal overturned. Kramer subsequently heard of Cecelia's project and applied to them due to its closer proximity, only subsequently discovering the scam.
He is portrayed by Donagh Gordon.
