S.H.O.T., or the "Shoot hell Obduracy Trooper/Anti-Demon Special Mobile Task Force", is an organization dedicated to combating demons and supernatural creatures. It operates under the City Safety and Security Bureau and is located beneath the Akebono Police Station. While the members of the Akebono Police Station and the townspeople are aware of S.H.O.T.'s existence, they do not know the exact location or the identities of S.H.O.T.'s members. The reason for this secrecy is because dealing with supernatural threats that cannot be publicly proven requires discretion, and openly allocating budget for such purposes is not feasible.
The S.H.O.T. base is not heavily armed since it does not anticipate direct enemy attacks. Instead, it is protected by a shield generated by four stone monuments infused with magical power. If these monuments were to be destroyed, the magical energy generated from within the base's Magic Engine could leak, risking the discovery of the base by enemies.
