Overshield is an armor enhancement that creates a personal energy shield that protects the individual from damage. In Reconstruction: Chapter 11, the overshield protected the Meta from Washington's attack with a chaingun and again when the Meta attacked many Freelancer soldiers after breaking into Command. In n+1, the Meta takes several rounds from Sarge's shotgun and survived an energy sword stab from Tucker, perhaps because of the overshield.
