Metropolis Quietus is the first stage of R-Type Final and it's sequel. It takes place in a destroyed space colony. This space colony is most likely the 'Satellite City Evergreen', described as crashed into the sea in the Platinum Heart's description.
Evergreen has been completely destroyed and seems to be void of human life. It is, however, a swarming zone of Bydo. Revos, Meltcraft, Strabalts, and other low-level Bydo abound. Pilots will also encounter their first Gains as well. This is a good starting mission, as Bydo flight patterns are varied and there are plenty of different types to test weapons on.
Xelf-16 is the boss of this area. Defeating Xelf-16 will lead into Twisted Ecology. However, depending on previous missions through Twisted Ecology, pilots may arrive in different climate permutations; they'll arrive at version 2.3 by default.
Trivia
- Astute pilots will notice a B-1D Bydo System Alpha flying away during the arrival into Evergreen. This is part of a time-loop introduced further into mission 'Last Dance'.
- In R-Type Final 2, the space colony size was decreasing to smaller cities and more darker atmosphere which is also inspired from R-Type Tactics II's EAAF Mission 3.
