Dimension 26, known by a few names such as the 26th Dimensional Way, Warp Space, or the Tesseract, is Subspace. Not be confused with Desynched space. It's likely that this is related to the Catapult Dimension, if not the same thing.
Description
Dimension 26 is basically a warp tunnel that can lead to any dimension at any year.

R-Type Final
The fifth stage in R-Type Final leads to the pilot through a visually warped space where a Fine Motion lies in wait at the end. Depending on which components are destroyed in the ensuing battle, the pilot may end up in several other stages.
Little known feature: In this stage, the amount of distortion is controlled by the R-craft's speed. Since most pilots use Lvl3 and 4, they may never come across this. Setting the R-craft's speed to 1 will make this mission almost normal.

Now known as Warp Space, the only way to access this trans-galactic warp tunnel is to reach the Glitnir station near Pluto, which is capable of sending ships into the region known as Warp Space in order to reach the Bydo's home star system/home galaxy.
