Epic is a song by Faith No More which is a mix of funk, white-boy rap, crunchy heavy metal, and faux-Classical keyboard/piano. It contains utterly nonsensical lyrics. The lyrics frequently allude to "it," without ever explaining what "it" is. The chorus simply consists of the band shouting, "It's it!", while vocalist Mike Patton responds with "What is it?" The title is not mentioned in the lyrics.

The video was inspired by the work of painter Salvador Dali. It ran constantly on MTV and featured an exploding piano and a disturbing image of a dying fish. (Thanks, Edward Pearce - Ashford, Kent, England, for above 2)

The dying fish in the video belonged to singer/songwriter Björk. They were at a party at Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum's house in Berkeley and Björk was coming from a poetry reading in San Francisco where someone gave her the goldfish. She gave it to the band and never saw it again. (Thanks, Ryan - Raleigh, NC)

Atreyu covered this on their 2007 album Lead Sails Paper Anchor. it was a bonus track exclusive just to the enhanced version. (Thanks, Charlie - Las Vegas, NV)
