A watermelon is a placeable crop that grows on farmland from watermelon seeds.

Harvesting
Harvesting a watermelon plant yields 1 - 3 watermelons, 1 watermelon seed, and 6 Farming XP (24 XP with the 4x daily bonus). The chance of obtaining more than one waterlemon per plant is increased by the player's Farming level and for owners of the VIP gamepass. Extra watermelon seeds cannot be yielded.
Totems
A watermelon totem will collect and replant watermelons in a 3-block radius, which can then be collected by interacting it. A watermelon totem placed next to a conveyor belt will drop the watermelons onto the conveyor. This process cannot yield extra watermelon seeds.

Growth
The growth time of watermelons can be shortened by 20% when watered with a watering can or basic sprinkler, or fertilized with basic fertilizer. If watered and fertilized, the growth time will be shortened by 30%.

Trivia
- Despite being a seasonal crop, watermelons can grow in any season.
- Besides the seed and the actual watermelon, all growth stages of the watermelon are nearly identical to that of pumpkins.
- The watermelon's second to last stage of growth has a melon that is slightly darker than the final harvestable crop.
- Despite the fact that Cletus says the player can eat it as a "refreshing snack," and the description saying it is a "tasty melon", watermelons currently cannot be eaten.
- Prior to the January 8, 2022 update, watermelons sold for the highest amount of coins out of any crop.
- The second to last stage of the watermelon is slightly floating.
