When Lavinia Asimov scolds Apollo for not taking Terpsichore’s shoes, he says the fallen god has other things to deal with and she mocks his legion issued boots, which he really enjoys. When Apollo informs the fifth of the Greek Fire canons Triumvirate Holdings has on each of the Julia Drusilla Yachts, he says they are doomed. He later participates in the archery class and does okay.

Thomas is shown not be afraid to break up awkward conversations, but he is able to become unsettled when grim news is heard and he becomes a pessimist.
