“ | Patience, indeed! I’ve had it up to my horns with this nonsense. As if the wild god would speak to... to him. | ” |
–Maron on Grover's claim that Pan spoke to him in The Battle of the Labyrinth. |
Maron is a Satyr. His mother was one of the nymphs who cared for Zeus. Zeus honored him and his brothers Silenus and Leneus who make up the Council of Cloven Elders. He is currently in a relationship with Naomi.
History
When he was in Washington Square Park one day, he sees a young Will Solace and his mother being attacked by Stymphalian Birds. He defends the pair and goes back to their hotel room with them. He explains that Will is a demigod and brings him to Camp Half-Blood.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
The Battle of the Labyrinth

Maron first appeared at the Council of the Cloven Elders hearing. He was not as angry as Leneus, and they were convinced by Chiron to allow Grover a week to find Pan. Maron is presumed to have fought in (and survived) the Battle of the Labyrinth. Later, when Grover Underwood returned saying that Pan was dead, Leneus voted to exile him. The council ended with a tie vote and the satyrs split into groups and some following the council while others followed Grover. Maron voted to exile Grover, but they were put into a deadlock.
The Last Olympian
Maron is presumed to have fought in the Battle of Manhattan and survived.
The Chalice of the Gods
To help Percy sneak into Zeus's Palace, Grover directs him to Naomi, a cloud nymph who works in the palace kitchens and has been dating Maron for the past few months. Percy remembers Maron as being a nice enough goat-dude, but only slightly below Geras on the weird old man spectrum. Maron having a dating profile on Satyr-er was not something that Percy wants to ponder.
Upon meeting Naomi, Percy introduces himself as a friend of Maron's which she knows is a lie as Maron doesn't have any friends. After directing Percy to Ganymede, Naomi grumbles "friend of Maron. That's hilarious."
The Sun and the Star: A Nico di Angelo Adventure
Will dreams of the day Maron saved him and his mother, however he and Naomi tell Will Nico di Angelo will exchange him for Iapetus.
