Trison

The Trison is a native animal of unnamed planet called "Not-Furya". The animal is not seen, but the mercenaries have found its skull or killed the animals, since the Mercenary Station P7 has couple of Trison skulls hanging inside. Richard B. Riddick also hunts Trison for food, as seen by the haunch he drags on a sled.^[1]

Physiology

Trisons are huge four-legged animals. The biggest animal has been seen to be 7 feet high at the shoulder. Their heads have three big horns, and their foreheads are covered with bioluminescent markings that flicker when they are agitated. Trisons have a long muscular tail.^[2]

Behavior and Diet

Trisons are herd animals. They appear to be herbivores, as they flee when only Riddick and a lone Alien Jackal is in the area. They attack defensively trying to shake off the predators who have clinged onto the members of the herd.^[2]

Trivia

• The "Trison" name appears to be a play on "Bison" based on the creatures three horned nature.
• The Trison is never named on film, the name is derived from concept work done for the film by Jerad S. Marantz.

• In the storyboard there was a whole scene on Trison Hunt planned, where Richard B. Riddick and his Jackal hunted and killed a bull Trison.^[2]
• The design differs a little from storyboard to the skull, mostly in number of horns and their locations.
