Jacob Boyer is one of the four protagonists in Redfall.
Official Description
- Jacob is an ex-military sharpshooter, sent in to Redfall just before the sun darkened as part of an elite private security force. Dark circumstances separated him from his platoon, forcing him down a rogue path. Now he stalks the streets of Redfall, neutralizing evil from the shadows with supernatural precision. Look for a mysterious, ragged raven circling overhead—you may not see him, but Jacob will be nearby.[3]
Gameplay Description
Jacob's actions skills compliment his skills in long-range combat as well as in stealth.
- Raven - A psychic bird companion that can tag enemies. Enemies are highlighted by a red outline.
- Upgraded this lets you run and gun with Jacob as the Raven flies through walls and floors to light targets. You can light a room, step in, snap off a few shots and then back away with ease
- Later upgrades let you use the raven as a hunter-killer with some success
- Cloak - Activate a cloaking device and become invisible to your enemies (for at least 10 seconds). You have a limited number of shots during stealth mode after that the cloak breaks.
- Heartstopper - A ghostly sniper rifle that locks onto enemies and fires lethal headshots.
Biography
A former special forces (1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta) sniper for the military hailing from West Virginia, Jacob went mercenary following his honourable discharge. A corporate contract with the private military company Bellwether Security brought him to the charming town of Redfall on confidential orders.
Due to his 'machine-like' efficiency at his job, Bellwether Security put him under constant surveillance. They suspected he was hiding some sort of secret, perhaps even subconsciously so.
When Redfall fell to the vampires, Jacob had a nasty run-in with one of the vampiric “gods” now ruling the island, leaving him with a vampiric eye and a spectral raven companion. Jacob is tough, used to doing what he must to survive, but will he be able to fight back against the vampires threatening to destroy Redfall? He doesn’t have much of a choice. There’s no way off the island.

- Jacob grew up in foster care after spending his 8th birthday in a CPS office.
- Jacob can play the acoustic guitar. He learned to play when his older foster brother gave him his guitar as a kid.
