“Headaches” is about the push and pull of the beginning of a romantic relationship – the sickly sweet emotional rollercoaster of learning to trust someone during the rush of the honeymoon phase. My producer [Everett Orr] and I were really inspired by a lot of the psychedelic and indie rock I listened to growing up and wanted to make a track that paid homage to that.
