Technician (QW)

This article appeared in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars

The Technician in Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is a Strogg class responsible for healing and reviving Strogg troops on the battlefield.

Summary

They use weapons such as the lacerator, grenades, and the blaster. They can even use the stroyent repair tool as a weapon. The Technician has the ability to extract Stroyent energy for use by players. They can also stroggify Human players.

The player choosing this class is responsible for healing (or supporting with Stroyent) his teammates. His weapon list is short – there are only two guns, one of which is quite useless.

The Technician usually stays behind the main force and gets into the action when somebody is seriously injured. However, players with this class can be a dangerous enemy in a firefight, as they can heal themselves. His unique abilities should be used as often as possible.

Strategy

  • Stroggifying players turns them into spawn hosts (One use re spawn posts that can be claimed by any strogg player,) to do this, interact with a downed/Dead GDF soldier with the revive tool.
  • Spawn hosts can be destroyed by GDF Medics
  • The Technician's revive tool takes time to revive players, unlike the GDF Medic's Defibrillators.
  • Like all strogg classes, Pressing + and - Will either take away HP and add it to ammo, or take away ammo and add it to HP

Trivia

  • Judging by the concept art, the technician was originally named as Meditek.
