Repair Bots are used by the Strogg to repair broken machinery. They will never attack the player or friendlies. You can destroy them however, a few blaster shot will kill one. A large number of repair bots can be seen in the Nexus Hub Tunnels, which hint that the area requires constant maintenance.
However in some missions, the player will be required to deploy repair bots in order to proceed (after they extinguish a fire or repair something), these areas seem to have infinite amount of repair bots. They reappeared in the final level after Kane defeated the Makron as they fixing the shield of the Nexus. Which Kane need to disable to damage the Core itself.
Trivia
- In Data Processing Terminal, there is a repair bot that will attempt to attack you. It will follow you around and use its lasers on you, but it cannot hurt you in any way. It's best to destroy it as it can become a nuisance when facing actual enemies.
- Some repair bots are red, while others are yellow.
