Quake II - Unseen is a cancelled third party commercial add-on for Quake II later released online as a free mod (files dated 6 November 1998). It was developed by Tequila Software, made up of Peter Hopkins, Tom Francis and David Wilson. Originally called a "mission pack", in the style of the officially sanctioned add-ons for Quake and Quake II, the suggestion that it was authorized lead to legal action by id Software. Ultimately it was resolved to refer to it as an "expansion pack" instead.
The released version has twelve single-player levels, thirteen weapons, four new bosses, five deathmatch maps and several tweaks to the engine. They were able to attract the interest of a publisher, but in the end opted out due to the costs of licensing the various intellectual property required for a commercial release; hence it was "unseen". They then moved on to creating an expansion pack for Blood II: The Chosen entitled Revelations, which was never completed.
Owing to how it was created, it is only playable using the original Windows 95 version of Quake II, and none of its commercial or source ports.
