SB Talent Camp (also known as ShowBT Talent Camp, simply known as ShowBT Trainees) is a Filipino pre-debut group under SBTown. The group consists of former trainees from ShowBT Entertainment and newer trainees who passed SB Talent Camp's online audition in 2020.
SB Talent Camp and SB Town are handled by ShowBT's former CEO, Robin Geong. The first group produced from the program is girl group YGIG, who debuted in November 2022.
Career
2018-2020: First Public audition
After the debut of an idol group SB19, On November 5, 2018[1] the company ShowBT Entertainment and ShowBT Talent Camp announced from their official Facebook page that there will be an audition event in the Philippines after being successful and the group was recognized in the Philippines.[2]
On October 19, 2020[3] the company announced that there will be an Online Audition (in the Philippines only) using the form link or offline form, will send an audition clip such as dancing, singing etc. They also announced that those who pass the audition will have the opportunity to go and train in South Korea. The audition was reported to have reached 1,809 applicants in just a few months.[4]
2021: Official trainees
On August 23 the company posted on social media a timetable or release schedule “RE: BEGIN” Concept for trainees.[5]
2022: Debut of YGIG
In October 2022, Rozy confirmed her departure from SB Talent Camp and her return to vlogging.
On November 24, 2022, SB Talent Camp's new label SBTown announced the debut of their first girl group YGIG, short for "You Go, I Go," consisting of the former SB Talent Camp members JM, Vien, Darlene, Jewel, Hazelyn, Maeg, and Alexei. The group was made in partnership with Universal Music Philippines and will debut on November 25 with the single "Shaba Shaba."
2023: Solo artist Darlene and debut of PLUUS
In February 2023, during YGIG's first fanmeet, Darlene made her first appearance since her health hiatus where it was announced that she would leave the group due to health and academic pursuits, and will instead be refocused as a solo artist who will debut in the future. On the same fanmeet, the remaining SB Talent Camp male trainees were announced to debut as PLUUS.
