The Vs. Recorder is an item introduced in Generation IV.
Description
The Vs. Recorder is a key item which first appears in Pokémon Platinum Version, and it returns in all subsequent core series games. With the Vs. Recorder, the player can record Pokémon Battles taking place either at Battle Frontiers or during multiplayer. For the Nintendo DS games, it was possible to record Wi-Fi matches, before Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection was decommissioned on May 20, 2014, as well as share them to other users around the world via the Global Trade Station.
The Vs. Recorder's main mode is Browse Mode, from which the player can watch saved battles and review their Battle Frontier status, including their number of Battle Points. The default color of the Vs. Recorder's interface is green, but if the player taps the side of the screen, they can toggle between various other colors, including pink, gray, yellow, red, brown, and orange. There is also the Global Mode, which is for watching battle videos from other players.
