A Technical Record, or TR for short, is an item introduced in Generation VIII that can be used to teach a Pokémon a move. As with TMs prior to Generation V, they are single-use items that are consumed after use, and can be sold for money.
In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, TRs are most typically found in the Wild Area, where they can be received as rewards for beating Pokémon in Max Raid Battles, or can be exchanged for watts with several attendees throughout the area. They can also be found inside TM item balls across the Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra.
