The Secret Potion (Japanese: ひでんのくすり, Hepburn: Secret Medicine) is an item introduced in Generation II.
Description
The Secret Potion, spelled SecretPotion before Generation VI, is a recurring key item in the core series serving as a unique form of medicine. It can heal any Pokémon's sickness, though it cannot be used on the player's Pokémon.
In the Generation II games, the Secret Potion is used to cure Jasmine's sick Ampharos, Amphy. The player can obtain the Secret Potion from the pharmacist in the Cianwood City pharmacy after talking to Jasmine in the Olivine Lighthouse and then return there with the Secret Potion to use on Amphy. Using the Secret Potion to cure Amphy is required in order for the player to be able to challenge Jasmine at the Olivine City Gym.
In the Generation IV games, the Secret Potion is obtained from Cynthia at the Valor Lakefront, and its purpose is to disperse the crowd of migraine-stricken Psyduck blocking Route 210.
