Harrison is a character appearing in Pokémon the Series: Gold and Silver.
Biography
Harisson originated from Littleroot Town in Hoenn region.[1] He spoke with Professor Birch, who gave him the advice of starting his journey, to meet many Pokémon and learn from them. Harrison took his advice, and was quite content with the excitement of being on the journey.[2]
Pokémon the Series: Gold and Silver
Harrison first met Ash Ketchum and his friends at the Ho-Oh shrine. He introduced himself, for he also wanted to try to fix the problem that occurred at the Ho-Oh shrine. At the shrine, a Sneasel was causing trouble and Harrison decided to battle it, intending on capturing it. Reaching the top of the shrine, they encountered a Machoke and a Machamp, guarding the flame. Harrison sent Houdoom to attack them, along with Misty's Corsola. However, as Ash had difficulty battling Sneasel, the group went away, to find a different tactic. Ash and Harrison returned, and sent Phanpy and Houndoom, respectively. The two used Headbutt and Take Down, hitting Machoke and Machamp.
The latter two went to attack Houndoom, they tripped over Phanpy, causing the two to roll down and bash into a tree. Harrison then focused his attention at Sneasel, who battled Team Rocket that tried to extort it to obtain the sacred flame. With the enemy gone, Harrison sent Blaziken, which Ash's Pokédex had no information on it. Blaziken used Quick Attack to hit Sneasel, who fired Shadow Ball. However, Blaziken evaded the attack and retaliated with Flamethrower and Fire Punch, defeating Sneasel. Using his Poké Ball, Harrison caught Sneasel. With the matter settled, Harrison told Ash that he, too, would participate in the Johto League.[1] The next day, the heroes saw on the screenboard that he and Gary passed the preliminary round.[3]
Seeing Ash's Bulbasaur and Vincent's Meganium fighting, Harrison sent Miltank to use Heal Bell, which calmed both sides down. As Officer Jenny arrived, Harrison claimed that the two Trainers were simply sparring against one another, to avoid them from being disqualified. Gary also arrived to confirm the same, but he also taunted Ash, which made Harrison see Ash and Gary were rivals.[4] Harrison used Sneasel, defeating a Trainer's Machoke in the next round. He then visited Ash, wishing him luck in his battle against Gary.[5] Harrison watched Ash's battle against Gary. After Ash won, he faced Harrison in the quarter-finals. Ash sent Pikachu, while Harrison sent a Kecleon.[6] Harrison's Kecleon turned invisible to gain an advantage, but Pikachu grabbed Kecleon by its Tongue and defeated it with Thunderbolt. Harrison then sent Sneasel, who quickly defeated Pikachu with Metal Claw. Ash sent a Totodile, who stopped Sneasel by gnawing on its claw and tossing it on the ground.
Harrison then sent Hypno, who defeated Totodile with Hypnosis and Psychic attack. As it used Dream Eater on Snorlax, Hypno woke the latter up, causing Snorlax to fire a Hyper Beam to defeat Hypno with one blow. The two sent out a Steelix and a Noctowl, to which the latter used Confusion. Steelix endured the attack and defeated Noctowl with Iron Tail. As Ash sent Snorlax back out again, Steelix used Screech and Bind, but was quickly defeated by Ice Punch and Hyper Beam combo. Harrison's Houndoom defeated Snorlax, and battled Ash's Bayleef. Bayleef used Headbutt, but this was a distraction to use Vine Whip to bind Houndoom's mouth. Harrison admitted he couldn't remember the last time he had such an intense battle: Houndoom fainted from Body Slam, forcing Harrison to send his ace, Blaziken, out. Blaziken easily countered Bayleef's Vine Whip and Razor Leaf, and defeated it with Fire Punch. As his final Pokémon, Ash sent Charizard out.[7]
Charizard and Blaziken clashed using Flamethrower, and each Trainer noted the other's Pokémon was well-raised. Blaziken went to close in on Charizard by using Quick Attack, to which Charizard used Seismic Toss to inflict massive damage to it. However, Blaziken was still able to continue the battle. Charizard was hit by another Quick Attack, and when it attempted to use Seismic Toss, Blaziken executed a Blaze Kick to harm it. After both Pokémon were blasted away by using Dragon Rage and Flamethrower, both Blaziken and Charizard stood up. The latter went to use Flamethrower, but due to exhaustion, it fainted, thus earning Harrison a victory for the round.
During the semi-finals, Harrison's Houndoom was defeated by a Rhyhorn. He lost the round, not using Blaziken, as it was quite exhausted from its previous battle. That evening, the heroes visited Harrison, who explained his Blaziken had recovered. Harrison asked Ash if he was from Pallet Town, and reminisced about his experience with Prof. Birch. Thus, Harrison advised Ash to visit the Hoenn region, where he could encounter Pokémon like Blaziken. Suddenly, they heard a scream, finding a lone Misdreavus trapped underneath a tree. Gary joined them, and helped Misdreavus to become released. The Trainers spoke what they could do next, with Harrison thinking of challenging the Indigo League. As Team Rocket appeared to snatch people's Pokémon, Harrison sent Blaziken to use Flamethrower to stop them. Once Team Rocket was defeated, the group parted ways, wishing luck to each other. As Harrison walked away, he felt that Gary and Ash's rivalry would never end.[2]
