Grandpa Forest

This Drampa, nicknamed Grandpa Forest, is a Normal/Dragon-type Pokémon that first appeared in Tasting the Bitter with the Sweet!.

Biography

In the past, when Lana and Mallow were younger and first met, they wandered into the forest near Aina's Kitchen. During their adventure, they ran into Grandpa Forest, who lets out a roar, scaring the duo into running. Later, the girls were walking along the forest with Haban berries, which they called "Bittersweet Berries", when Lana accidentally dropped one as her foot stumbled on a root. She tried to go after the rolling berry, but then found herself falling off a cliff, to which Mallow caught her and held onto a vine to prevent her from falling. The vine, however, could not support their weight and broke, leaving both girls falling off the cliff, before landing on Drampa's back. Afterwards, the girls played together with Drampa in a clearing within the forest. Drampa also helped them get Haban Berries from up in the trees, and the girls fed it these berries. After their experience in the forest with Drampa, the girls tried finding it again, but were unsuccessful.

In the present day, Lana's sisters had wandered into the same forest and came back to Lana at home with the same Haban berries she and Mallow found in the past. At school, she tells the class about this which reignites Lana and Mallow's memories with Grandpa Forest. After school, Lana and Mallow, alongside Ash, went into the forest to find Grandpa Forest. During this, the girls recall their past experiences with it and remembered clearing within the forest, Drampa's home. They go to that clearing and find Drampa, but the Team Rocket trio, having been on their tails the entire time, try to get Drampa's attention by dressing up and acting like little children. Drampa shows no interest in the trio and tries to goes over to Lana, Mallow and Ash, so Meowth captures it with a net. This angers Drampa, causing it to break out of the net and unleash a Twister in a rage, sending Team Rocket spinning in the air before Bewear got them and left with them. Afterwards, Lana and Mallow go up to Drampa to see if it still remembers them, and it does, and so the girls, alongside Ash and their Pokémon, play with Drampa and feed it Haban Berries.

It listened to Jigglypuff sing at one point, only to fall asleep, much to Jigglypuff's annoyance.^[1]

Grandpa Forest once went to Oranguru's place to enjoy dishes made of Haban Berries.^[2]

The Team Rocket trio made another attempt to catch Grandpa Forest so that Matori could deliver it to Giovanni. They tried to use Haban Berries to lure Grandpa Forest, and Jessie sends her Mimikyu out to attack Grandpa Forest. Since Mimikyu is only interested in battling Ash's Pikachu, it refuses to battle Grandpa Forest. James sends out his Mareanie to use Black Hole Eclipse, but before they can attack, Stufful interrupts them by facing Grandpa Forest, and the Team Rocket trio are taken by Bewear to its den.^[3]
