Subconscious is a location in Inside Out inside the mind of Riley. It is one floor lower than the other locations of the mind, and closed by a huge door. Two guards, Frank and Dave, are in faction in front of it.
It is used to lock and contain troublemakers. As such, it houses Riley's worst fears, which appear in dramatically exaggerated forms. These include broccoli-like forests, the staircase to the basement, Grandma's vacuum cleaner, or, the worst of all, Jangles the clown.
After being arrested, Bing Bong is imprisoned in Subconscious. Joy and Sadness let themselves be caught to enter inside and free Bing Bong. They also free Jangles to use him to wake Riley up.
