Sam Hopkins was a young sailor in the employment of the East India Trading Company. He most notably served as a Cabin Boy and crew member of a merchant ship, Wicked Wench, under Captain Jack Sparrow. As an attack was staged aboard the Wench in the Bahamas, Hopkins was killed in the ensuing battle.[1]
