Mega Brands, Incorporated (formerly Mega Bloks, Incorporated, founded as Ritvik Toys, Inc, currently Mega Construx) is a publicly traded children's toy company based in Montreal, Canada. Mega Bloks are a type of construction toy manufactured by the company. Mega Brands bought the license for Pirates of the Caribbean and manufactured a line of toys based on the films. In 2009 Mega Brands lost the license and it was gained by their closest rival, the LEGO Group, instead, creating Lego Pirates of the Caribbean sets.
This line is not to be confused with the established line of pirate Mega Bloks called Pyrates.
