Lieutenant Floyd had a number of Royal Marines that made up his men, stationed in the warehouse district of Port Royal, where they encountered a group of three smugglers led by Montanari, and brutally beat their leader. However, an old associate of Montanari, the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow, was soon informed of the incident by Montanari's men and intervened. Floyd's marines were taken by surprise when Sparrow appeared as they were in the middle of punching a defenseless Montanari, and engaged in combat with Jack. But, Jack was quickly able to bring down every man surrounding Montanari, and immediately set his sights on Floyd who he eventually found down an alleyway with a few marines. Despite his best efforts to defend himself, Floyd was promptly defeated by Sparrow and left unconscious in the alley. His further fate is unknown.
