"Dead men tell no tales! So, I'm forced to let ye live."
This article covers content from an electronic game which is part of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, and yet may also contain some inconsistencies and contradictions to established canon.

"Wild guess...I take you to be El Grande. Marty the dwarf's brother."
"How do you know who I am?"
"Family resemblance."
"Enough jokes! You're finished, you scurvy dogs!
"
Jack Sparrow, El Grande and Will Turner[src]

El Grande was the brother of Marty the dwarf and the right hand man to Pequeño allegedly told in legend of Jack Sparrow.

Biography

"By the way...watch out for my brother, El Grande...he's Pequeño's right hand man, and he's looking for you."
Marty to Jack Sparrow[src]

Little is known of El Grande other than what was in a legend told by Jack Sparrow while he and Will Turner faced the gallows at Fort Alvo Grande. In the legend, while Sparrow and Turner were finding a crew in Tortuga, they met Marty the dwarf, who told them about his brother El Grande, how he was Pequeño's right hand man, and he was looking for them. After Sparrow and Turner were confronted by Pequeño, who broke his leg, El Grande was dispatched to destroy the two pirates, but was defeated by his own bombs and escaped. Later, Pequeno attempted to blow up the Interceptor, but was foiled by the pirates and again dispatched El Grande to find them. El Grande was defeated when Pequeño collapsed on top of him.

Equipment and skills

According to Jack Sparrow, El Grande was highly skilled with bombs and explosives, using them to a high degree during his brief fight with Jack Sparrow and Will Turner.

Behind the scenes

El Grande concept art

El Grande was voiced by Keith Ferguson in the 2006 video game Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow. While unconfirmed, it is likely that El Grande was made up and never existed, having only appeared in a made-up legend by Jack Sparrow. The term "El Grande" translates into "The Big One" in Spanish.
