- "We have two more vials to collect. One from Chevalle, and one from the Pirate Lord of the Black Sea, whoever that is at the moment."
- ―Jack Sparrow
The Black Sea was an inland sea between southeastern Europe and Anatolia. It was actually a distant arm of the Atlantic Ocean by way of the Mediterranean Sea. It was connected to the Mediterranean by the Bosporus and the Sea of Marmara, and to the Sea of Azov by the Strait of Kerch.
History
- "Head for the Black Sea. Oh, and have someone take down that terribly silly Jolly Roger up there. I’m not sailing under that thing."
- ―Jack Sparrow to Hector Barbossa
The notorious pirate Jack Sparrow sailed across the Black Sea at some point before he abandoned the life of piracy and joined the East India Trading Company.[1] At some point before the quest for the Shadow Gold the Barbary Corsair Ammand killed the Pirate Lord of the Black Sea and took his title for his own.[2] Ammand kept the title for many years, still holding it by the end of the War Against Piracy.[3][4]
