Tunnels are soft patches of soil that stretch through an expanse of rock. They are obstacles appearing in Pikmin 3 and Pikmin 4. A tunnel can be dug through, opening the way and creating a shortcut. Yellow Pikmin dig through the tunnels faster than the other Pikmin types, so using them will make digging out the soil moderately quicker.
In Pikmin 3, two tunnels appear in the Distant Tundra, while a third can be found in the Tropical Wilds.
