Paper Bags are obstacles in the Pikmin series. They first appear in Pikmin 2 and return in both Pikmin 3 and Pikmin 4. They block access to areas, similarly to cardboard boxes, and must be compressed by the weight of enough Pikmin to open up the areas beyond them. Throwing Purple Pikmin on a Paper Bag means fewer Pikmin have to be thrown on, since Purple Pikmin weigh the equivalent of ten Pikmin. Once a Paper Bag is decompressed, it is flattened permanently, becoming only a part of the scenery.
Appearances
Pikmin 2
In Pikmin 2, the first paper bag is found on the very first day, in the Valley of Repose, where Olimar and Louie must to flatten it to reunite.
Pikmin 3
In Pikmin 3, they are closed at the top, giving them a sloped shape. They can be pushed off a ledge to allow easier access to the higher area.
Pikmin 4
Pikmin 4 includes both paper bag types from Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3 respectively. There are both one that can be push and ones that can be flattened.
