Dirt-mounds are obstacles in Pikmin 3 and Pikmin 4.

They are small burrows scattered all over PNF-404, in every area except in the Garden of Hope. Dirt-mounds contain different items, which can be retrieved by sending Pikmin to enter the mounds, where they dig the items out. Items found in dirt-mounds can include two or three Bomb Rocks per day, Pellets, Data Files, and sometimes even Fragments. Dirt-mounds next to a pile of fragments typically hide more fragments under the dirt, and must be dug up with Pikmin; some dirt-mounds hide more than twenty Fragments.
