The tree is an unnamed hangout place for the characters in the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz and its adaptations to other media. The children often sit by it when talking to each other.
Many characters have appeared by that tree, most commonly Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty. Peppermint Patty often shares her theories and confusions about life and hints at her secret crush with Charlie Brown, but the latter often does not pay attention to her. Therefore, tree often becomes a special background for Peppermint Patty's unrequited love for Charlie Brown.

Sometimes other characters, such as Marcie, Linus, Snoopy, or Woodstock, have appeared by the tree too. However, like the brick wall, the characters never specifically refer to it in their dialogue.
This hangout place should not be confused with the Kite-Eating Tree because Charlie Brown never feels angry about sitting by it.
