Background
The track Monster is similar in theme to All We Know and Pressure as it is about members of the band not being there any more in this case the departure of the Farro brothers.
"I can’t really say that ‘Monster’ is an indication of what to expect on the next Paramore album. We, as a band, will always try to evolve and try new things. It will be different for sure, but it will still keep Paramore‘s essence." - Hayley Williams
Music Video
As mentioned above, this song had a thirty-second preview of it on both Paramore.net and the Fueled By Ramen channel. The music video to the song was released on July 18, 2011. This music video was about how life used to be before Josh and Zac Farro had left, and how life was now. The song shows the relationship separation between the 5 members, particularly Josh Farro who had written the exit statement on his blog, which had made controversy between Paramore now and the Farro brothers.
The full song was released on June 3rd, 2011.

Lyrics
You were my conscience, so solid
Now you're like water
And we started drowning
Not like we'd sink any further
But I let my heart go,
It's somewhere down at the bottom
But I'll get a new one
And come back for the hope that you've stolen
I'll stop the whole world, I'll stop the whole world
From turning into a monster and eating us alive
Don't you ever wonder how we survive?
Well now that you're gone, the world is ours
I'm only human, I've got a skeleton in me
But I'm not the villain
Despite what you're always preaching
Call me a traitor, I'm just collecting your victims
And they're getting stronger
I hear them calling
Calling
I'll stop the whole world, I'll stop the whole world
From turning into a monster, and eating us alive
Don't you ever wonder how we survive?
Well now that you're gone, the world is ours
Well you find your strength in solution
But I liked the tension
And not always knowing the answers
But you're gonna lose it, you're gonna lose it
I'll stop the whole world, I'll stop the whole world
From turning into a monster, and eating us alive
Don't you ever wonder how we survive?
Well now that you're gone, the world...
I'll stop the whole world, I'll stop the whole world
From turning into a monster, eating us alive
Don't you ever wonder how we survive?
Now that you're gone, the world is ours
